23 weeks down, 17 to go!

Hello Everyone!

As most of you know, Jon and I are expecting our first child in December. Guess what?! It's a boy! We are so happy to welcome a baby boy to the family, though I am fairly certain I am now officially outnumbered. Even Bailey and Eli are both boys!

Speaking of Eli, he is so happy to have a new "best friend." He can't get enough of me. He follows me around, sleeps next to me and is always sniffing me as if I am hiding a milk bone under my shirt. It's adorable! I don't think Bailey knows, or if he does, doesn't care. Sounds about right for Bailey! I am looking forward to see how they react to our new little one.

Jon is so excited to be a dad, though to be honest I think the idea of a boy kind of scared him at first. I had a hunch this was a boy from the get go, so I was prepared when baby p showed his stuff on the ultrasound. What an amazing experience to see your baby on the screen. He's an active guy so getting him to lay still for a photo was nearly impossible. When he did, he covered his face. Shy baby!

Life on the rez hasn't changed for us much. Other than getting a nursery ready and making plans for the baby, life is as usual. Jon is still in school and working part time. I am still working at the hospital. Although it seems like we aren't nearly as busy now that our Sioux Falls trips have decreased considerably since fertility was done. Not so much car time has been nice!

We look forward to fall (cooler weather and lower electric bills) and the trips we have planned to Omaha. One of my best friends is getting married this fall and I am so honored to be a bridesmaid. She may regret her choice when I waddle down the aisle.

We hope this finds you all well!

XOXO

New Beginnings

It's hard to believe almost a year has gone by since our last post on the blog. That's my fault, I've been lazy! Also, very busy...

As many of you know, Jon and I have been struggling for some time to have a baby. We sought the expertise of a fertility doctor in Sioux Falls and miraculously, this March, we found out we were expecting a baby. We couldn't be more pleased!

This miracle baby is due to join us around December 9, 2010. We are so looking forward to this time. I hope you all have a chance to meet him/her!

As far as Jon and I go, things are moving along. My work is challenging at times, but I am hoping for better days to come. The baby has helped me to see the "big picture."

Jon had another great year in school and is awaiting summer session to begin. He is still mowing lawns and working a few shifts a month in Valentine at the Bunkhouse Restaurant.

Bailey and Eli are also doing well and today brought in some awful surprises of two dog ticks. One found it's way into my hair. Of course! I hate bugs!

We have found some wonderful friends here and are headed to Custer State Park this weekend for some camping and a walk up to Crazy Horse Monument. Should be fun!

Hope this blog finds you all well!
XOXO
Jon and Jill
